Girls Tennis comes up big over NWC

Newington 5, Northwest Catholic 2: The Indians are still undefeated after claiming three sets by tiebreaker.

“Overall, it was a really good team win against a strong opponent in Northwest Catholic,” head coach Sean Hussey said. “I’m very pleased with us pulling out a lot of tiebreak matches.”

The tiebreakers began right away, as Olivia Rosio won a 10-7 in a decisive set in first singles. Abby Molloy won one of her own in fourth singles, beating Kenzi Lee 3-6, 6-4, 10-2.

In doubles, Lindsay Weaver and Julia Mazur won 6-0, 1-6, 10-7 to claim another close victory for Newington, which is now 6-0.
